The Brittany Hills Subdivision Project includes roadway rehabilitation, resurfacing, curb and sidewalk repairs, drainage upgrades, storm sewer lining, and pedestrian/ADA upgrades. Key components include:

  1. Roadway Rehabilitation:

    • Full-depth reclamation (FDR) will reconstruct the failing roadway base by recycling existing materials and mixing in cement for added strength.

    • Asphalt pavement resurfacing on the courts and cul-de-sacs for a new smooth riding surface.

  2. Added Path Crossing with Flashing Signage at Sleepy Hollow Road and Highmeadow Lane:

    • Studies show a need for a marked pedestrian crossing at this location for access to local and regional paths.

    • High visibility crosswalk markings and flashing signage with push buttons will be installed for added safety and visibility.

  3. Storm Sewer Replacement and Lining:

    • Pre-construction assessments include televising the existing storm sewer throughout the subdivision.

    • Identified damages storm sewer will be replaced or lined to extend the life of the existing storm sewer system.

  4. Sidewalk and Curb Replacement::

    • Damaged and non-compliant sidewalk and curb sections will be removed and replaced to improve pedestrian accessibility and safety.

    • Spot repairs will address deteriorated areas throughout the project limits.

FAQ

Q1: Why is this project necessary?

The existing roadway and infrastructure are deteriorating, requiring rehabilitation to improve safety, durability, and connectivity for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists.

Q2: What roadway improvements are included?
Disruptions will be minimized to approx. 2 hours by keeping the existing main active during the installation of the new main on the west side of Eastgate Drive. Notification will be provided 48 hours in advance of any service disruption.

Q3: What roadway improvements are included?

Full-depth reclamation (FDR) will be used to strengthen the roadway base by incorporating recycled materials, followed by the application of two layers of asphalt to create a smooth and long-lasting surface.

Q4: Why is a multi-use path being installed?

This path enhances pedestrian and bicycle connectivity, linking Broadsmore Park to Randall Road. Northpoint Development will construct a segment of the path to complete the connection.

Q5: How will this project improve traffic safety?

Updated pavement markings will enhance visibility and traffic flow, while designated bike lanes on Stonegate Road will improve safety for cyclists. Additionally, sidewalk and curb replacements will remove damaged sections and enhance accessibility.

Q6: What sidewalk and curb improvements are included?
